• MILD: Mexico’s health authorities reported on Sunday that as of April 11, there were approximately 104,562 mild coronavirus cases across the country that did not require hospitalization. These mild cases add to the more than 23,000 coronavirus cases that the government has officially reported.

• NUMBERS: As of late Sunday, Mexico has officially reported 23,471 coronavirus cases and 2,154 deaths. Mexico City accounts for approximately a 27% share of the total confirmed cases. The neighboring state, State of Mexico, follows in second place with a 16% share of total confirmed cases.

• ESTIMATES: “Given that they are mild cases, these Covid-19 (coronavirus) estimates are not reported directly. The remaining (cases are) recorded at 100 percent: deaths, hospitalized (patients)”, said Hugo López Gatell, undersecretary of health, who did not present recent figures for mild cases.

• MORELOS: Mexican authorities highlighted Sunday their concern regarding the small state of Morelos (pop. 1.9 million) in central Mexico, which has recorded a higher than expected infection rate: 10.56 per every 100,000. Nearly double than the national rate.
