• SONORA: Some manufacturing lines in the electric, auto, aerospace and medical equipment industries in the northwestern state of Sonora have had some interruptions due to delays in the supply chain coming from China given the economic slowdown linked to the deadly coronavirus.

• WEEK: According to Index Sonora, the manufacturing and maquiladora industry association in the state, the severe acute respiratory syndrome delayed the delivery of some electric components for at least one week in February which in turn had an impact downstream.

• DOMINO: “It occurs as a domino effect. In manufacturing, we usually do not have finished products. Very few are finished products. There will be vehicles that did not get a part, and because of that the final car was not finished, likewise with televisions”, said Gerardo Vázquez Falcón, head of Index Sonora

• DATA: Top products imported from China into Mexico, include modular circuits (USD 3.8 billion), mobile phones (ISD 3.6 billion), computer parts to process data (USD 2.6 billion), optical equipment (USD 1.9 billion) and computers (USD 1.7 billion), according to government data.
