• BEDS: Mexico City remains the key area of concern for Mexico’s health authorities with critical care bed usage at 66% during the current pandemic emergency. Neighboring State of Mexico reports a critical care bed usage rate of 54%, according to new government figures.

• NUMBERS: As of late Tuesday, Mexico has officially reported 54,346 coronavirus cases and 5,666 total deaths. Mexico City accounts for approximately a 28% share of total confirmed cases. The neighboring state, State of Mexico, follows in second place with a 16% share of cases.

• MOBILITY: “It is important to say that all (Mexican) states continue to have a drop in mobility (of people). But if mobility increases it can have consequences on the number of infections”, José Luis Alomía, Mexico’s epidemiology chief, warned Tuesday.

• NATIONAL: At a national level, the critical care care usage rate is 32%, according to Mexican authorities. The government also reported that the states where mobility has decreased substantially during the past few days are the Pacific state of Nayarit and the central state of Puebla.
