• MEASURES: Mexico’s health authorities said they have implemented a protocol of measures to monitor the potential spread of the new deadly coronavirus originating in China, including increased detection efforts at some of the country’s international airports.

• CORONAVIRUS: A severe acute respiratory syndrome suspected to have transmitted from animals to humans, the coronavirus has infected more than 300 and killed six people in Asia. Mexican authorities say they have also notified its high specialty hospital network to be increasingly cautious.

• POINTS OF ENTRY: “Protocols of prevention against serious acute respiratory infections are already included (as part of our response). The first (measure) was to operate efforts at the points of entry into the country”, said Hugo López Gatell, undersecretary of health.

• US SIDE: Yesterday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta announced, they have detected the first case of a person carrying the Wuhan coronavirus in the US. The person arrived on a commercial flight from China to Seattle and is now isolated.
