Massacre victims' families seek help in Washington

• MEETINGS: Family members of the murdered victims of the November 4 massacre in Northern Mexico held meetings with members of the US Congress in order to make their case for both countries to help in lowering violence linked to Mexican criminal organizations.

• TERRORISM: Six days after President Donald Trump postponed his plan to name the Mexican drug trafficking organizations as foreign terrorist organizations, the members of the LeBaron family said they touched upon this during their meetings with Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) and Rick Scott (R-FL)

• RESPONSIBILITY: “The US needs to take responsibility for what is happening in Mexico. We told them directly: ‘You buy the drugs, you make the cartels rich and give them weapons. Both countries are responsible!’ “, Adrián LeBaron, father of deceased Rhonita Miller, told Mexican radio.

• BINATIONAL: Descendants from a group of breakaway Mormons that fled the US in the 20th century and hold dual citizenship, the family is still trying to find out who ordered the killings of six children and three children. The Mexican Attorney General’s office has arrested three people.
